FAQs

  • Is there a tour of movie stars' homes?

There are a variety of tour companies that offer tour buses or van shuttles cruising by the estates and houses of current and former residents of the Hollywood celebrity set. Tours take off from Grauman's Chinese Theater, usually every half hour, or from nearby hotels.
  • How can I get close to the Hollywood sign?

Hiking in is your best bet. Drive to the Hollyridge Trail, where there is a small parking lot. You can access the lot via Beechwood Drive. Average-to-advanced hikers can reach the sign in about an hour or a little less. On the way are gorgeous city views surrounded by natural foliage. You will wind up above the sign. A chain-link fence blocks direct access.
